☆Tesla
最近、電気自動車のテスラを時々見かけるようになりました。 ポルシェも電気自動車化されることが発表され、電気自動車の時代に突入していることを実感します。 しかし、電気も化石燃料などを利用して生産されることを考えると、本当に環境にいいのか疑問を感じます。 今後、太陽電池など、クリーンエネルギーを利用した車の開発が躍進することを期待します。 また、日本の産業構造の担い手である自動車産業に大きな変革が押し寄せるのではないかと思います。 自動車のエンジンパーツなどを製造している企業などは、雇用問題なども含み、新しい時代に、どのように対応していくのか気になります。
We are now entering the age of electric cars; Tesla can be found more often on the street and Porsche has officially announced that they will launch electric-powered cars in the immediate future. It is expected that the production of gasoline-powered cars will be discontinued within20-30 years. In view of the fact that electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels, it is questionable to what extent the advent of electric cars will alleviate the problems of environmental deterioration. I hope that the automobiles using clean energy such as solar panels/batteries will be further developed to become mainstream. From an economic standpoint, it is expected that the termination of the production of gasoline-powered cars will drastically change the Japanese industrial structure based on a network of many small and medium-sized companies which supply engine parts, etc.. I wonder how they will cope with the changes and hope that the employment opportunities will be maintained in due course.

☆定期健診（Regular checkups)
今日は、午前中、英会話サロンを、サム先生にお任せし、定期健診へ。予約をしたにも関わらず、朝9時にCTを撮ってから3時間待ち！ 待ち時間に、英単語テスト/将棋/新聞（バンクシーの記事、面白かったです！）で、時間つぶし… とても、充実していました（笑） スマートフォンの電源用に、最近購入した(Ian先生オススメの）太陽電池チャージャー （充電器）が大活躍でした(^^) イチオシです！ 呼吸器内科の検査結果は、悪化していなくてホッとしました！ 明後日は、消化器内科の定期健診で、またもや午前中、お休みさせていただきます。申し訳ございません！

JETS Academyのゴスペルクラスでお世話になっている大久保和惠先生率いるJoyful Peace Gospel Choirの10周年記念コンサートにいきました！ 素晴らしかったです！たくさんの元気をいただきました！

こちらで用意したトピックに入る前に、生徒さん達が楽しいトピックを持ち寄ってくださり、とても盛り上がります。英語でどう話すか(how to speak)よりも何を話すか(what to speak)を考える事の大切さを重視している意図がしっかりと伝わっているようでとても嬉しくなりました。皆さんのお邪魔をしてはいけないと思い遠慮していたのですが、久しぶりにディスカッションに参加したら、とても楽しかったです(^^)
1) 余命が半年と言われたら、何をしたいか? 2) 死刑制度について 3) 月餅の作り方 4) ベジタリアンについて 5) ことわざ…. etc.
ことわざクイズで、空所に適語を入れる問題もありました。
たとえば、A wiseman never wants a (w – – – – -). wで、はじまる単語は、何でしょう？正解は、weaponです。 wifeと答えた人もいて…なるほど〜と思いました（笑）

宗教や体質の理由ではなく、動物愛護/個人の嗜好で、ベジタリアンになる人の数が、特に先進国で増えているそうです。ベジタリアンよりもさらに厳しい“Vegan,” “魚菜食主義のpescatorian,” 魚菜食+鶏肉を食する“pescapoultarian”“グルテンフリー”など、様々な形態があり、私自身も、ホームステイを受け入れるときに確認をすることが多くなりました。 先日、英会話サロンのトピックにもなりました。 ちなみに、私自身は、雑食です。（笑） 自然の恵に感謝し、色々な人々の心がこもった食べ物を無駄にしないよう心に命じています。また、それぞれの国の歴史や文化を食べ物から学ぶことが大好きです。 単なる、食いしん坊なのかもしれません。 食欲の秋到来です！
The number of “vegetarians” more specifically, “vegans,” “pescatorians,” “pescapoultarians,” “people on gluten free diet” is on the increase particularly among the young generation in the developed countries. It’s not necessarily due to religious or health reasons. It is often said that this is becoming more like a trend. Whenever I serve as a host family for people from foreign countries, I must check this matter thoroughly to make their stay comfortable. How about me? I appreciate every meal prepared by people who try to make others happy. I try not to waste food and the good-will of people who made it. I also like learning about history and culture of foreign countries from their cuisine culture, so I am quite brave (open-minded) about trying different kinds of food. Anyway, it’s so-called, “食欲の秋“（the best season for having good appetite) in Japan! Let’s enjoy!
