Vaccine Hesitancy　ワクチンへのためらい 　日本でも新型コロナに対する切り札として、ワクチン接種が始まりました。 先行するアメリカでは、接種を希望する人が多すぎて予約できない状況が続く一方で、Vaccine Hesitancy（ワクチンへのためらい）現象が問題になっています。 　元々、アメリカにはAnti-vaxxerと称されるカルト的なワクチン反対論者がいます。彼らは、様々なワクチンは自閉症などの原因となるという、科学的根拠がない説を信じています。　加えて、今回ウイルスの遺伝情報を使った新しい「mRNAワクチン」が、未曾有のスピードで開発されたゆえに、安全性に不安を覚え、ためらう人々がいるのでしょう。　特に黒人の間で、Vaccine Hesitancyは顕著だと言われます。　過去に非倫理的な人体実験の対象になったり、現在でも十分な医学の恩恵を受けられない黒人層の一部には、新ワクチンには強い不信感があると調査は示しています。 　ワクチンには一人ひとりの健康を確保するだけではなく、社会全体が集団免疫（Herd Immunity)を得るという効果があります。集団免疫を達成するには、人口の７割以上が感染またはワクチン接種することが必要と言われており、Vaccine Hesitancyは大きな問題です。　ワクチンを皆が容易に受けられる仕組みを整えると同時に、安全性を確立しVaccine Hesitancyを軽減することが、対策の重要な柱であると言えるでしょう。 （旦　英夫　ニューヨーク州弁護士）

Such a beautiful story!

An old man meets a young man who asks:
“Do you remember me?”
And the old man says no. Then the young man tells him he was his student, And the teacher asks:
“What do you do, what do you do in life?”
The young man answers:
“Well, I became a teacher.”
“ah, how good, like me?” Asks the old man.
